Can you please go into more detail about Hebrews 11:6? What does it mean that those who have faith believe that God rewards those who seek Him?
"And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6).
Faith is what you trust. See: Would you define belief? for a detailed discussion of this. But what Hebrews 11:6 is focused on is that to please God -- to be saved -- there are two fundamental things that must be believed. Without them, reaching for the salvation that God offers would not even be attempted.
First, there has to be a trust that God actually exists. If you don't believe that God is there, then why would you ever work at trying to please Him if he is an imaginary character?
The second thing that must be believed is that God rewards those who seek after Him. If you don't believe there is a benefit to doing good or that Heaven doesn't really exist, then you would not put any effort into being righteous.
