Is it all right to stay living with someone until we get married?

Okay so on the subject of living together before marriage: I chose this before I knew God. Now, I am stuck in this situation. I have repented for having premarital sex. My boyfriend and I will be getting married soon. Will I go to hell if I die? I have nowhere else to go for the time being. I know I won't have sex or anything of that nature with him.

Living righteously isn't always convenient, but it can always be done.

I don't know how soon "soon" is, but you do have options:

  • You can have a quick marriage at the county courthouse and then have your formal wedding later. These days you often can get married the day you go done to the courthouse.
  • You or he can move back in with a parent until the wedding day.
  • You or he can stay with a friend.
  • You or he can rent a room for a short period until the wedding.

All of these avoid setting a bad example and decreases the temptation to have sex again before marriage. "Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother's way" (Romans 14:13).
