Question:

How are we to treat a homosexual person? She is our daughter. This has never happened in our families before. We are so hurt by this. She was raised in a Christian home. We want her to come to her senses and live the way God wants her to live. We want all our loved ones to have a home in heaven. She won't listen to us. Whatare we suppose to do? Thank you. We are members of the Lord's church, church of Christ. We do not support the homosexual beliefs.

Answer:

You have to treat it as you would any other family member who is caught up in a sin that they will not let go. "I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner -- not even to eat with such a person" (I Corinthians 5:9-11).

You didn't mention how old your daughter is. If she is still a minor, you have obligations to her because of the fact that you are raising her. If she is an adult, she has to see that she cannot manipulate your beliefs by using her family relationship to force you to accept sin.
