Is it a sin to burn sage to get rid of negative energy? I have heard that it has been used for this purpose and is considered a "holy herb" in some Christian churches but even though they say it has been used for thousands of years it seems fishy to me, like it is a form of magic.
"Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust" (II Peter 1:2-4).
Everything regarding life and godliness is in the Bible, so if this is of God we should be able to find it in the Scriptures. So how often is sage mentioned? Zero times. How about "negative energy"? Zero times. How about "holy herb"? Still, zero times.
And therein lies the answer. This is man-made nonsense. It has nothing to do with God.
Thank you! :)
